Review of the Alaska Airlines Credit Card (2017)

One of the best credit cards out there. Why? You can close the account and get the signup bonus again!

Aside from this being a churner‘s favorite credit card, is there anything else that makes this an amazing credit card? Let’s take a look at the benefits:

  1. Earn 3 miles for every $1 spent directly on Alaska Airlines and Virgin America purchases (1 mile for every other purchase)
  2. Every year on your account anniversary get another companion fare from $121 ($99 plus taxes and fees from $22) on Alaska and Virgin America flights booked on  There are no blackout dates.
  3. Free checked bag on Alaska and Virgin America flights for you and up to six other passengers on the same reservation

Yep, this is pretty much the credit card you want if you fly Virgin or Alaska airlines a lot.

Introductory offer: 30,000 bonus miles and a companion fare from $121 ($99, plus taxes and fees from $22) after you make $1,000 or more in purchases within the first 90 days of account opening + free companion pass!

Straight to the… Is this card worth it?: Once again, if you fly Virgin or Alaska airlines a lot you want this card. You basically need this card. This card should be in your life (if you can get it). The current introductory offer has no limit, you can get it over and over again (So basically unlimited amount of Alaska Airline miles as long as you keep getting approved with the introductory offer). But, there is one thing to note: $75 for Visa Signature® accounts, or $50 for Platinum Plus® Visa® accounts (annual fee). So, I honestly do not recommend holding this card long enough for the 2nd annual fee to hit, instead close it and get some more miles!

Recommended Credit Score: 720+ and at least a years worth of credit history.
