Looking for a Delta co-branded credit card? Take a look at how Delta’s brand new NO ANNUAL FEE American Express credit card stacks up against its brothers!
When was this card released?: September 7th 2017
What are the benefits?:
- $0 Annual fee, no other Delta Skymiles credit card offers this
- 20% off in flight purchases (in the form of statement credit)
- 2 miles for Delta and Restaurant purchases, 1 mile for everything else
- Instant Card Number (may very person to person), but this will allow you to instantly make purchases online with your new credit card
- Some standard American Express benefits such as return protection.
Introductory offer: Earn 10,000 bonus miles after you make $500 in eligible purchases on your new Card within your first three months.
How does this stack up to the Gold Delta credit card?:
The Blue Delta credit card is just garbage. The introductory offer is significantly worse than the Gold Delta credit card (no annual fee 1st year): Earn 30,000 bonus miles after you make $1,000 in eligible purchases on your new Card within your first 3 months and a $50 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase with your new Card within your first 3 months. On top of the lack of good introductory offer, you also don’t get your checked bag for free. That’s right, with the Gold Delta you get 1 free checked bag every flight, with the Blue Delta you get nothing. YOU DON’T EVEN GET PRIORITY BOARDING.
Is there a reason to get this card?: Yes. If you had the Gold Delta for almost a year and the annual fee is about to hit, you may be able to product change down to this card. So, the only reason why you would get this card is to avoid the annual fee on a better Delta credit card.
