Capital One Savor Rewards, Capital One’s newest credit card on the block that is here to compete with the top credit cards for dining. Will this new credit card make it into your wallet? Let’s find out.
Benefits: (Beside the card looking sexy)
- 3% cashback on dining, 2% on groceries and 1% on all other purchases (NO CAP)
- $0 Annual Fee
- Standard Mastercard World Elite Benefits!
Introductory Offer: Earn a one-time $150 bonus once you spend $500 on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening (30% rebate is solid). On top of this, you get a 0% intro APR for 9 months (Balance Transfers and Purchases).
Right off the bat, one of the most unique qualities about this credit card is that the 3% cashback on dining is not capped. That’s right, unlike the Bank of America Cash Rewards which caps your 3% & 2% cashback at $75 total (unlimited 1% cashback), the Capital One Savor does not have any cashback cap. Aka, for whatever reason you spent $3,000 in the restaurant category this quarter, you will receive the full $90 cashback.
Is this card worth getting?: If you got to a lot of restaurants yes. This is one of the best credit cards for dining / restaurants. If you have a credit score greater than 720, this would be a great student credit card (assuming you go to a lot of restaurants). That being said, 2% cashback on groceries is okay, but there are better credit cards out there for that category.
There is one thing to note: Capital One does conduct a credit pull from the major 3 credit bureaus. (This will affect your credit score temporarily.)
Note: This is a re-brand of the Premier Dining Rewards, just with a better introductory offer and card design.
